Join us for an Institute Update on the Vitiligo Clinic. Our speakers will provide an update on the clinic’s history and mission, an overview of treatments available and how it has evolved over time to enhance its services for patients.
During this session, our speakers will present a selection of interesting case studies, offering insights into the clinic’s impact on patients and will provide details on research conducted through the clinic.

Dr Christopher Chew
Dr Christopher Chew is a dermatology registrar undertaking a PhD at Monash University studying vitiligo and melanocyte biology. His research involves using advanced laboratory techniques in different subpopulations of melanocytes in mammalian skin. In particular, he is studying how an intermediate progenitor-like melanocyte subpopulation is implicated in the pathogenesis of vitiligo and developing new treatments for vitiligo patients.
Dr Chew has worked clinically at a number of metropolitan and regional health services in various medical, surgical and dermatology roles including Skin Health Institute, Alfred Health, Monash Health, Epworth Richmond, West Gippsland Healthcare Group and Latrobe Regional Hospital. He is a clinical research fellow at the Skin Health Institute and the Victorian Melanoma Service. Chris is passionate about translating dermatology science into innovative therapies for patients with vitiligo and advancing the understanding of how the condition may be best treated and prevented.
