Dr Tam works as a consultant dermatologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital and has run a contact dermatitis clinic at the Skin Health Institute for over 20 years. She also practices in private general dermatology practice in Melbourne.

She has been a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists since 1998 and has served in numerous leadership positions including as the President and Medical Director of Skin Health Institute, Honorary Treasurer of College of Dermatologists (Victorian Faculty) and Coordinator of Dermatology Rural Outreach.

In 2021, she was a recipient of the Silver Medal from the Australasian College of Dermatologists and also received the 2022 Skin Health Institute Member Recognition Award in acknowledgment of her service to the College, Skin Health Institute and the practice of dermatology. She is a member of the All About Acne group and the European Society of Contact Dermatitis.

She actively educates dermatologists in patch testing and provides academic teaching to dermatology registrars and Melbourne MD students.
