Overview

This workshop is designed to upskill GPs in dermoscopy and to provide GPs with the knowledge and expertise needed to make confident decisions in diagnosing and managing skin cancers.

By the end of this workshop, GPs will confidently be able to:

  • Explain the principles of dermoscope
  • Use a dermatoscope to diagnose common skin lesions: seborrhoeic keratoses, basal cell carcinoma, in-situ squamous cell carcinoma, vascular lesions and dermatofibromas
  • Use a dermatoscope to diagnose suspicious pigmented lesions (melanoma, in-situ melanoma)
  • Describe the limitations of dermoscopy (patient safety)

This half-day workshop is conveniently held on a Saturday morning and can be attended in person or online.

The workshop is developed and delivered by specialist dermatologists A/Prof Alvin Chong and Dr Hugh Roberts and facilitated by Dr Laxmi Iyengar.
