Overview
This virtual workshop will provide a practical overview of hair anatomy and physiology, followed by a detailed look at the pathophysiology of alopecia areata. Participants will learn how different types of hair loss present during trichoscopic hair and scalp examinations, with a focus on recognising key clinical patterns.
The session will also cover current treatment options for alopecia areata, equipping practitioners with the knowledge needed to manage this often complex and distressing condition. Through an interactive, vignette-based format, the workshop will support the development of clinical reasoning skills, helping practitioners identify hair loss early and initiate appropriate treatment pathways.
By the end of the session, attendees will be better prepared to assess, diagnose, and manage alopecia areata in a range of primary and specialist care settings – ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes.
