Overview
Chronic Hand Eczema (CHE) is a debilitating chronic skin condition that affects physical and mental well-being, social interaction, and financial stability. Effective management of CHE often requires medical treatment and psychosocial support, along with workplace and lifestyle adaptations to reduce exposure to irritants.
This presentation will discuss the diagnosis, management and impact of chronic hand eczema, and discuss the inclusion of chronic hand eczema in the registry including the data that will be collected.
Dr Lena Ly
Dr Lena Ly is currently a consultant dermatologist at Eastern Health, Monash Medical Centre and the Skin Health Institute where she leads the severe atopic dermatitis subspecialty clinic. As Adjunct Lecturer for Monash University, Eastern Health Clinical School she takes great pleasure in teaching and examining junior doctors and registrars. She is actively involved in a number of projects at her academic institutions and is driven by a desire to achieve the best standards of care through research, dedication and compassion.
A/Prof Peter Foley
Associate Professor Peter Foley is the Director of Research at the Skin Health Institute and the Head of Dermatology Research at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor, Department of Medicine at The University of Melbourne. He is a visiting medical officer to the Photobiology, Dermatology Biologics, and Dermatology Investigation clinics at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and the Phototherapy, Atopic Dermatitis, and Psoriasis Advanced Targeted Therapies clinics at the Skin Health Institute.
He has been an investigator in over 170 clinical trials and has over 170 published manuscripts.
Associate Professor Foley is Australia’s only councilor on the International Psoriasis Council (IPC), is a founding member of the Australasian Psoriasis Collaboration, is co-convener of the Australasian Dermatology Registry, is co-convenor, Australian Psoriasis Treatment Goals, is chair of the steering committee for the Pillars of Dermatology Practice Symposium, is a former steering committee member of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA).
