Dr Matthew Howard
MBBS(Hons) MPhil BPharm(Hons)
Dr Matthew Howard is a specialist dermatologist and a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He is a consultant dermatologist at Monash Medical Centre and Box Hill Hospital.
Dr Howard completed his postgraduate medical degree from Monash University and received the highest academic honour of overall dux of his medicine degree. In addition, he completed an undergraduate degree in pharmacy from La Trobe University and was awarded the overall dux of his degree.
Before entering the dermatology specialty training program in Melbourne, he completed a Master of Philosophy with honours at Monash University on the research subject of melanoma. He has published several first-author peer-reviewed publications and maintains a strong interest in research.
During his training, Dr Howard was awarded the Adrian Johnson Memorial Prize for the best paper/ publication in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology by a College trainee as a lead author in a calendar year.
In addition, he won the prestigious Harvey Rotstein Award for collegiality with his colleagues and dedication to his patients.
