He also works at Melanoma Dermatology which is affiliated with the Melanoma Institute of Australia. He is a Senior Lecturer at UNSW and regularly teaches medical students and junior doctors and is actively involved in the teaching and mentoring of dermatology trainees. He completed a 2-year pre-dermatology research fellowship in autoimmune blistering diseases alongside his Master of Medicine\, for which he received Honours for his thesis. As part of his training\, he spent six months at the National Skin Centre in Singapore where he was exposed to a broad range of skin conditions affecting Asian skin. He is a Member of the International Society of Dermatology and American Academy of Dermatology. ​Dr Daniel has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at both local and international conferences. He has also written book chapters on common skin conditions. He was awarded the Harvey Rotstein Award for academic excellence\, collegiality and professionalism through registrar training.
